Dr. Westkaemper is board certified in orthopedic surgery. He has also earned a Certificate of Added Qualification in Surgery of the Hand. He has been practicing orthopedic and hand surgery for more than ten years. Dr. Westkaemper's area of expertise and special interest lies in treating the hand and upper extremity. His practice also includes general orthopedics as well as Worker's Compensation patients. Dr. Westkaemper has admitting privileges at the Baylor Medical Center at Irving and takes general orthopedic calls. He also sees acute hand injuries in the emergency room.
Dr. Westkaemper earned his bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College and his MD degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. His orthopedic residency was performed in Lubbock at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. He then participated in a one-year fellowship in surgery of the hand and upper extremity at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
